Enemy Overhaul, Shooting Mechanics, Score System and Health System


This is the first major update to the game and I have a lot in store for you!

To start off with, I’ve updated the enemy sprite to make them look less like a placeholder and more normal: They look a lot more like they exist in this world now!

I’ve also allowed you to shoot at them now. They can take two bullets at most to the face. I’ve also added an indicator to show them taking damage.

Now you can properly fend them off while you run away.

Sound effects were also added for shooting lasers and ships that you destroy. A high score tracker was also added which can be seen in the top right of the screen. It will track how many enemies you kill. Later on I want to add a currency which will be given to you based on your high score.

Now I can show an entire battle to show off what we have so far.

You may also see what looks like a health bar in the top left corner. This health bar will track your health as enemies attack you. Now you may be wondering "Now they can kill you?" yes they can. They can only ram into you to do so for now but I plan on adding more enemy ships later on.

This next video will just show the respawn mechanic I added. So now when your health reaches zero, you die and respawn. Your high score gets reset back to zero as well.

Now you can play indefinitely!
